Beef with Mushroom

Category: Meat & Seafood
Style: Other

Description:
I am seriously craving for hot roast beef with creamy mushroom sauce right now and all I can think of is the one from Conti's. As much as I would like to head out to Conti's for lunch tomorrow, I thought it would be better if I just try to cook my favorite (and my friends' favorite) beef with mushroom. I know it's not going to have the exact taste as Conti's but I am proud to say that this is one of my specialties, my friends would always request this every time we had a handaan when I was in the US!

I like mine served with mashed potato, buttered veggies and rice. Carbo overload! YUMMY!

Oh and not only is cooking my version cheaper than Conti's, I get to share it with the whole family! Hee hee! :) So I guess you all know what tomorrow's lunch will be. ;) No roasting needed as well, so I guess yeah, it's gonna be different from the one Conti's has but hopefully equally yummy!

Once again, I am not very good with measurements so you may adjust the ingredients based on your desired taste and serving.

Ingredients:
- Beef tenderloin strips (I like mine in bite size strips, easier to cook and turns out more tender. Make sure to pick the right cut with just enough marbling.)
- Knorr Seasoning
- Lemon Juice (1 small lemon will do.)
- Pepper
- Soy Sauce
- Garlic Powder
- Beef Cube or Beef Stock
- Sliced Button Mushrooms
- All Purpose Cream
- All Purpose Flour or Cornstarch (To help make the sauce thicker)

Directions:
1) Marinate beef in Knorr Seasoning, garlic powder, black pepper, lemon juice and soy sauce. You may prepare ahead of time so that the beef will absorb marinade well.
2) Optional: Saute garlic and onion in olive oil or butter then add sliced button mushrooms. Add beef with marinade, then the beef stock or water with dissolved beef cubes. Simmer until beef is tender, add all purpose cream, simmer, then add cornstarch or flour to thicken sauce.
3) Or you may opt to skip the above step of sauteing and just brown the beef a little with the marinade, simmer in beef broth or water with dissolved beef cubes, add sliced mushroom, simmer until tender.
4) When beef is tender, add cream and simmer. To thicken sauce, add cornstarch or flour (dissolved in a little water)
