Banchetto with my Bestfriends

Diane and I have been talking about going to Banchetto ever since I came back from the US but never really got the chance to go because of her schedule. You see, this row of food vendors and sellers of other stuff like clothes, accessories, etc. line up along the south bound lane of F. Ortigas Jr. Road from 12 midnight Friday until 12 noon the next day. Diane works the night shift Mondays to Fridays so we never really got to go there.

Upon learning that our bestfriend RV and his wife Ruth, who are both based in Australia, will be coming for a vacation, we decided to finally set a trip to the Banchetto. Even if Diane had a hard time filing for VL, we finally got to go to the famous Banchetto last night.

We decided to leave early for Market Market where we met up with Diane. We left Pacita at around 7:30 PM and it took us more than 2 hours to reach Market Market, Friday traffic is terrible! We haven't had dinner yet and as we near our destination, we started talking about food. Definitely didn't help ease our hunger, thank goodness for Juicy Fruit Gum! ahahahah!

Traffic was also challenging from Market Market going to the Banchetto, thank God for great company, we managed to entertain ourselves with stories of our glorious teenage years, my, do we feel really old! Ahahahaha!

It was still too early, and we were already hungry... LOL! RV decided to get some stuffed pandesal from 7Eleven, we decided to wait a bit longer, I know it's gonna be worth the wait anyway! :) After an hour or so...

One word: CHALLENGING! I had a hard time picking which food to eat! They had several types of home cooked meals, street foods, desserts and drinks! They had Filipino, Japanese, Mexican, Chinese and Persian food! I felt like I died and went to food heaven! Ahahahahah! We decided to sample the chicken skin chicharon while trying to decide, YUMMY! After going around, we finally got enough food to share, lucky us, we didn't have a hard time finding seats, it was on a first come first serve basis.

So what did we have? An order of pork sisig with rice (Php 70), Lechon Kawali w/o rice (Php 60), Laing w/o rice (Php 40), Shawarma Rice (Php 60), Assorted Sushi tray (Php 120), Chicken with Cheese and rice (Php 70), 3 orders of Isaw Baboy, 2 orders of Pwet ng Manok inihaw, 4 orders of Isaw ng Manok (Php 150) and 2 big Gulp from 7Eleven (Php 60). Take note, there's of us sharing this, ultimate gluttons! LOL!

And the total for the night... (drum roll please!) Php 630!! Not bad eh? And now for our verdict:
- Pork Sisig was okay, wasn't crunchy at all, but tasty. I would give it a 3 out of 5.
- The Lechon Kawali that was given to us was mostly fat, wasn't crunchy anymore and a bit tough for my taste. They probably didn't boil it before deep frying it or something? I give it a 2 out of 5.
- The Laing was sooooo salty that we were looking for the cap of the salt shaker in our order, aksidenteng nabuhos ang asin??
- The Shawarma Rice was good, I would give it a 4 out of 5. :)
- Chicken with Cheese was okay, something I would have at home. 3 out of 5 for this.
- The inihaws were my favorite!!!!! I would definitely go back to that stall! SO YUMMY! Perfect 5 for me! :)

We have yet to go back and try the other stalls! I cannot wait! And my plan is, since Banchetto's open from 12MN to 12NN Saturday, we can go there really early morning like 3ish? Then we'd probably go straight to Salcedo Market! Woot! Wish me luck, I am planning to do this some time soon, I cannot wait! :)

Happy eating!

Looklet: My New Addiction?

Blame it on my brother's girlfriend, she posted the link on my Facebook page and now I cannot stop putting together different looks! I have always wanted to be a personal shopper, a stylist perhaps? My style's pretty simple, I prefer feminine classy, hate it or love it, style, like beauty is in the eye of the beholder. :)

For my first look, I put together something I would wear for a little girls' night out! Hee hee! Hope you like it! ;)
