Always Thankful

As I have mentioned in my previous entry, this is my second birthday here in the US of A. The first one could've been the loneliest one but thanks to my super friends, they made it a whole lot better for me and I thank them so much for that! =)

This year, 2008, probably is one of the best birthdays ever! Not only does my birthday fall on a TGIF, my friends planned something really special for me. Super thanks again to gurlfriend Jenny for making it happen, you da bomb! =)

I think everything was planned in a week. I would always hear Jenny every single day before my birthday, reminding people at work about my "little" party. Thursday came, I heard that around 15 people confirmed that they were coming, not a bad number if you ask me! I heard Kristine even told Houman and Amir about it, I was excited! It would be cool to have both of them on my birthday! I always wanted to know how it would be like to hang out with them! Hehehehe! Them big bosses! =) Hehehehe!

Anyhoo, Friday came. I woke up late that morning because number one, I came home late after watching "For the First Time" @ Pasadena with my sisters from TLF. Number two was because I left my cellphone in Ate Gina's car and that was the only alarm clock I have since I also left my IPOD in Kristine's car. Wow! How burara!

I prayed, I said, Lord, I pray that I don't miss my bus today. So I walked extra fast, I had to be at the bus stop before 7:07AM or else, I will miss my bus big time! I cannot afford to ride the 7:19AM one because that will be too late for me, I do not want to be late on my birthday, I want everything perfect! I was about to cross when I saw the bus stop... Sheesh! I am going to miss it! I said, Lord, please make the light red so the bus won't leave. Before I know it, the light turned red, I ran across the street to the bus stop, I was still able to catch the bus.

THANK GOD! =)

Now off to my second bus... I told myself, I am lucky today, God is extra sweet because it's my birthday so why not ask for something else. Hehehehe! I said, Lord, please make me catch the 7:41AM bus. I know I was kinda pushing it too hard because I never really got to ride that bus because I always arrive in time for the 8:00AM one. Well what do you know, as soon as I got off the bus, I saw the bus arrive. As soon as I crossed the street to go to the bus stop, the bus already started moving. They are very strict when it comes to getting on the bus on the designated bus stop. I signaled the driver to let me in, he said I had to go to the next bus stop which was not that far from the other one. I ran to the next one, the bus of course was way ahead of me. I thought I wasn't really going to make it, but what do you know, lucky me, the bus had to stop a bit longer since there was a guy in a wheelchair that had to get in. Wow! Talk about prayers answered!

After getting off the bus, I usually still have to walk 0.3 miles to the office (yes, daily exercise) Sometimes though, some of my officemates would see me walking to the office and would give me a ride to work but that really doesn't happen often. I prayed, again, Lord, please let one of my officemates see me and give me a ride to work. A few minutes later, Ate Eden saw me and gave me a ride to work...

THANK GOD! =)

I feel sooo lucky, I wanted to go to Vegas and finally try gambling, but then again, drop that... Hahahahaha!

So far so good! I got birthday hugs and greetings, even from the big boss Ramin. All my shipments so far were okay and THANK GOD Houman didn't shout at me that day! Hahahaha! That's because I was extra careful now with everything! ahehehehe! Everything went smoothly! Later that afternoon, I got a surprise from Ate Jhen, she sent me this beautiful balloon arrangement, sooo sweet! Kristine gave me these cute sweat pants from Juicy Couture! So sosyal! Hahahaha! Thanks Deric and Kristine!
Now, my party @ TAMAYO! OMG! I cannot describe how touched, happy, thankful, ecstatic I was! Up to now, I still cannot get over the fact that my dear friends went through all that trouble to make my birthday this year extra special. I arrived there with Kristine and I saw this long table with food, margaritas and balloons all over! I loved the design! Tamayo is definitely our favorite Mexican resto, the staff there, Myra, Donald and the rest are just the sweetest, most accomodating people we've met! No wonder we always do our Friday Happy Hours there. =)

I love drinking hanging out with her!), Ivan (life of the party, looove drinking sessions with him!=), Isaac (my TSONG!), Sasha (our newbie), Adam (my ex-husband! Har har har!), Shawn (my BFF! Hahahaha! Sometimes the source of my stress!), Amir (One of my big bosses), Arif (My love! My fave Indian), Yuki (new found friend), Shrun (another new found friend), Myra (of TAMAYO, our Friday night gurlfriend), Donald (our favorite bartender, he makes mean MARGARITAS!), and of course, the entire staff of TAMAYO. Yipee! THANK YOU FOR MAKING IT HAPPEN!

Anyhoo, after several drinks and tequila shots, we decided to call it a night. That doesn't stop there though! We still had time and energy to see a movie so we decided to watch BLINDNESS @ the Americana Mall. I guess we ran a little short on luck with our choice of movie because Kristine had to wake me up 3 times in the movie house, I fell asleep of boredom and being a little buzzed. I did enjoy the popcorn though, it was YUMMY!

We decided to call it a night. I had Saturday set for my cousins... Again, it was a blast!
I cooked pasta with pesto and shrimp. TUMBA ang pasta! My cousins Ate Peggy, Miguel and Ina came over with Popeye's chicken for me! YUMMY! My fave! Ate Peggy brought copies of Pinoy DVDs, we watched them after dinner. SO MUCH FUN!

WOW! This is a long entry! Sunday, I got to relax! Hay, what a weekend! =)

I love it! I am really blessed! Life has been really good to me, I am very thankful. =)

Okay, Lord, I know that you have given me more than what I have hoped for on my birthday... I hope you still have not forgotten my other wish? Hahahaha!

What the heck, why hurry getting a boyfriend when you have so much love in your life right now? Bwahahahaha!

Hindi pa rin talaga nawala yun no? Anyhoo...
